Eye Exams –

Remember that children should have an eye exam at 6 months, again at age 3 and then regular annual exams after they start school.

Squint –

A squint, or strabismus, is a condition in which the eyes do not align properly. One eye turns in-wards, up-wards, down-wards, or out-wards, while the other eye focuses at one spot. An early diagnosis of strabismus will enable more effective treatment.

Pediatric Cataracts –

Many people think cataracts only happen to older people, but children can get cataracts too. Both pediatric cataracts and cataracts from aging are a clouding in the lens of the eye that can cause blurry vision or blindness. Children's eyes are still developing until they're 8 or 10 years old, untreated cataracts can have serious long-term effects on their vision. Early detection and prompt treatment can prevent permanent vision loss.

Pediatric Glaucoma –

It is also referred to as congenital glaucoma occurs in babies and young kids. It is usually diagnosed within the first year of life. It is caused by incorrect development of the eye’s drainage system before birth that leads to increased eye pressure, which in turn damages the optic nerve. Symptoms of childhood glaucoma include Unusually large eyes, Cloudy eyes, excessive tearing and high sensitivity to light.

Amblyopia –

It is commonly known as lazy eye, is the eye condition noted by reduced vision not correctable by glasses or contact lenses and is not due to any eye disease. The brain does not fully acknowledge the images seen by the amblyopic eye. This almost always affects only one eye but may cause reduction of vision in both eyes.
